Basic Policy on the Environment

We give consideration to the impact of corporate activities on the environment and aim to achieve harmony between the environment and our business activities through environmental management.
Amid this, we aim to become the enduring company capable of growth as set forth in our mid-term management plan, and are striving to become "a technology-development company with added value for our operations and creating corporate value." Further, we aim to achieve social responsibility through "creation of a sustainable society and reduction of greenhouse gases."

  1. Observance of environment-related laws and regulations and raising the level by setting up a self-imposed standard.
  2. Reduction of environmental costs by pursuing continuous improvement
  3. Construction of uniform environmental management system involving subsidiary companies and production site abroad.
  4. Contribution to the creation of a sustainable society and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
  5. Achievement of the company's social responsibility.

Environmental Policy

  1. To grasp the influence that IBIDEN's corporate activities and main products, which include electronics substrate products, ceramic products and housing materials, exert on the environment and to make utmost efforts in resource conservation, reduction in greenhouse gases and waste and take into consideration their influence on the local society and the global environment or potential environmental effects. Those efforts to promote the "Three R Activities" and support the creation of a sustainable society and environmental conservation activities.
  2. To promote continuous improvement of the system and performance of environmental conservation activities and make every possible effort in pollution prevention. Moreover, to disclose the status and the results of these environmental conservation activities to the public.
  3. To work on the reducing environmental impact by defining self-imposed standards within a technically and economically feasible range, in addition to conforming with requirements specified in environment-related laws, regulations, agreements, and ISO 14001.
  4. To define the environmental objectives, targets, and programs for the entire company and each plant based on the environmental policy, and work towards their realization through appropriate management of the policy and reviewing each step through auditing.
  5. In order to attain the environmental policy, we will seek enhancement in understanding of the environmental policy and raise environmental conservation awareness among all employees through environmental education and enlightenment activities. Also we will to communicate our environmental policy to raw material/energy suppliers, related suppliers, and contractors and ask for their understanding and cooperation in our environmental management activities. At the same time, we will construct a cooperative system for green procurement.
  6. This environmental policy will be disclosed on the company's home page. We will ensure that any member of the public can receive a copy upon request.
